Sickle Cell is most common in people of Ancestry from Africa, South or central America, Caribean islands, India, Saudi Arabia and Mediterranean countries such as turkey, Greece and Italy

Sickle cell disease occurs in 1 out of every 500 African American births and 1 out of every 36,00 Hispanic American births. Sickle cell trait occurs in approximately 1 in 12 African Americans


The health issue of the Sickle Cell disease can be effectively reduced through management and prevention programs such as the Sickle Cell Initiative

The Sickle Cell disease can be managed by simple wisdom and training ideas such as high fluid intake, healthy diet, folic acid supplementation pain medication, vaccination and antibiotics for the prevention and treatment of infections and a number of other therapeutic measures
